Thoughts on Artificial Intelligence
This site, maintained by a student in Austria (so it might not last at this URL) presents a well argued case for artificial intelligence being just as valid an intelligence as our own.The Alan Turing Home Page
Gateway and guide to a large Website dedicated to Alan Turing (1912-1954), mathematician, code breaker, and generally acknowledged as the Father of Computer Science. The Cosmist Wars
Self-styled "Japan's Brain Builder" Hugo de Garis seriously predicts war in the 21st century between cosmic thinkers, who want to bring about what he calls "Artilects" (artificial intellects, or what I would call Machina sapiens), and terrestrially inclined folk afraid of the consequences. His essays are in a pesky g-zipped Postscript file format (a pain for Windows users), or you can view them as scanned images that take forever to load at 28.8. But few other scientists show his imagination, the courage to go public with it, and the wisdom to question the science he is undertaking, so it deserves a spot here.
